Here is an excerpt I wrote for our class activity with PA Week!
On October 12, 2010 members of UNTHSC PA 2012 visited residents of Courtyard Nursing Home in Fort Worth. Keeping the profession alive in the community is important and the PA Students were able to put down the books and represent their school and profession. While assisting with transporting the members to play BINGO, they communicated with the residents and experienced the ins and outs associated with the nursing home environment. As future healthcare professionals, they were able to visualize the daily business at the nursing home, while assisting them in the daily activities of living and brighten their day! Each student that volunteered was able to learn a valuable lesson that will carry into practice professionally and also personally! Thank you UNTHSC PA 2012!
